Launching and landing through surf (up to 1 metre, trough to crest height). Advanced water a definition: Sea: Any journey on the sea where tidal races, overfalls or open crossings may be encountered and which cannot be avoided; sections of coastline where landings may not be possible or are difficult; sea state 4 and winds above Beaufort force 4; launching and landing through surf (up to 1.5 metres trough to crest height). More Information, what’s it all about: The aim of our rough water core skills course is to experience the best of Anglesey’s rough water paddling, with dedicated coaching to bring out the best of your skills, we aim to expand on your skills and confidence in moderate water, introducing you to more challenging and bigger water. The strong tidal streams around Anglesey’s coastline give increased opportunities to expand our knowledge of planning and decision-making processes and will augment your sea kayaking experience. We will develop tide race skills, paddling in stronger winds and waves, surfing, rock gardening, rough water safety and rescue skills, tactics and psychological strategies. It’s the perfect course to develop your skills for future self-led trips around the UK s more challenging coastlines.
